As part of CATAI Commitment to enhance service delivery and empowering the marginalized

communities through our Continuity to learning in Emergency, Education cannot wait (ECW) a multi-year resilience project funded by UNICEF through a consortium of four (4) national NGOs of Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI), Grow Strong Foundation (GSF), Center for Advocacy, Transparency, and Accountability Initiative (CATAI), and GOAL Prime Organization of Nigeria (GPoN)), was launched to strengthen the resilience of children affected by the insurgency in northeast

Nigeria through alternative means of learning using radio sets in the event of access loss due to other factors. The project was designed not only to strengthen children’s resilience but also that of their parents through positive parenting sessions in which parents are educated on how to reduce the incidence of child abuse. The project addressed issues related to protection, particularly through referral pathways to other relevant organizations across the location of implementation, in order to reduce the incidence of child abuse, Protection of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Violence against children (VAC)-related issues in the area and increase children’s school

retention and continuity.

Through this project, CATAI was able to reach the total of 10,592 total enroll learners formal and informal and 5,316 (2,433 male and 2,883 female)parents in the positive parenting session which are sensitize around Explosive Ordinance Risk Education, PSEA, VAC and SSD to ensure school safety across the 15 locations of implementation in the 2 L.G.As. and supported over 5000 learners with scholastic materials across the locations.

These was achieved through our safe pace learning using the Digital means, pedagogy and Interactive radio Instruction (IRI).

As part of our Thematic objectives CATAI has been working across the Northeastern part of Nigeria supporting the Affected population through Education programming both Formal and Informal learning within 2021 CATAI was able to reach over 10,000 pupils in both Formal and Informal schools supporting them with scholastic materials And Dignity kits to adolescents’ girls.
